i recently got a camcorder that has a S Video port. I connected the plug that came with my video card to both ends (the camera and the GPU). But the problem is that windows didnt automatically recognize it. NOW i know its not a plug n play, but how do I configure the S Video to be able to extract pictures out of my camcorder. Do I need some kind of special software? Help much appreciated!

I'm pretty sure the S-video port on your card is video-out only. You can use it to hook up to a TV with S-video in, but you can't send video the other way.

ok, so you mean it only transmits video playback TO your tv or device, but CANNOT send video or pictures to a computer?

Does the camera have a firewire(1394) port? That would be the optimal way to get the video (and audio) into your PC.
