Hey guys, Im building a new computer and plan on getting 2x cd/dvd burners (probably with lightscribe). I'm wondering what the real differences are between the SATA and IDE optical drives?
I know SATA drives have more manageable cables because they aren't the flat optical ones, is that right? Is there anything else? Which of the two do you guys recommend?
Thanks!
Another advantage sata over pata(IDE) is on single pata with 2 drives vs two sata channel, sata wins ! :)
The reason is on single pata port, only one device can be active at one time, if you're accessing two at the same time, the system is sort of switching/sharing the bandwidth between them two, while sata don't have this problem.
