I got a Voodoo 5 PCI. For some reason, the tools detect it as only a 3dFx Voodoo series, not Voodoo 5. All the benchmarks detect my card as a Voodoo 4. What's the problem?

What version of the drivers are you using?

I'm using the official 3dFx drivers for Win2K
Try one of the 3rd party drivers found at www.voodoofiles.com
Read the reviews at bottom, and figure out which driver set works the best.

My problem is not which version of drivers i'm using since i'm using the official 3dfx ones and they should be able to detect my card. Second of all, i've already found ones that work great and tried them, but i had the same problem.

I was reffering to which release of the drivers you had.
This is the last release before the company stopped support for them. (http://www.voodoofiles.com/2764)
If these are the ones you have, then the problem may be with windows itself. My also be because the GPU's for the V5 are the same used for the V4 (I read this somewhere but can't remember where), but in tandem, and that's why it's getting detected as a V4.

My Voodoo 5's are detected as "voodoo series" as well, but I've never seen where they were detected as a voodoo 4 unless i had set the drivers to 'single chip only".
just my $.02

It might have been the Nvidia drivers that i uninstalled for my onboard tnt2 (disabled) or that i changed the drivers for my monitor, but my voodoo is now detected as voodoo 5(tools still detect voodoo series, but everything else detects a voodoo 5)
