I am going to be building a new rig soon. Going with an I7 920 and a 4870x2. These will be the only 2 components in the loop. The case is going to be the new Coolermaster ATCS 840. There is room in the case at the top to install a 3.120 radiator. I am planning on going with a swiftech GTZ for the CPU, and probally an EK for the 4870x2. Which radiator should I go with, the two contenders are the Feser or PA 3.120.

I am not planning on any serious OC on the video card. Reason for putting it in the loop is to reduce noise. I do plan on an OC for the I7 though. If/when I go to crossfire I will either add a 1.120 to the loop, or install an external radiator and create an independent loop for the CPU and GPU's.

I would have to say my #1 priority for going WC is to reduce noise, 2nd would be thermal headroom for OC'ing. I am also interested in which fans would be recommended?

Thanks in advance.

PA120.3 with low speed Yates if you want silence.

From all I've read about them (which admittedly isn't a whole bunch), the Feser is comparable to the PA rads, size for size. So I say to go with the one that costs you less. For fans, I will also specify low speed Yates from Petra's. For the money they are great choices, I am using 6 low speed Yates in my U2-UFO and 3 medium Yates and even with 9 fans running the computer is pretty quiet.

Agree with Mud. But I'd go with medium Yates from Petras and use a fan controller. Cuz it depends on your summer ambient temps. The mediums are pretty much silent, well silent when turned down. Either rad can handle the load.

Please take a look at the DD block for your GPU, it is a very effective cooler.

If money is an issue at all, get a Swiftech MCR 320 for half the price or two 220's and be ready for going two loops now. You can run the twin 220's inline and get better cooling than a single 120.3. The MCR's work well with medium fans. If money is no issue at all, the TC and Fessers are the best low airflow rads you can get.

I say flip a coin. Both TC and Feser are awesome rads, either or will just do just fine.

does feser have a rad that has normal fan spacing? ie NOT like the TC rads, and more like the swifty rads?
