So my coworker got the Storm today, 1st in line. (Yeah there was a line of ~30 people.) He also got a free crappy umbrella emblazoned with Verizon and Blackberry Storm logos.. Anyway. Its kinda neat, no iphone killer. I got to use it for awhile. The touch+click screen is, well, doesn't do it for me. If you click on the screen corners, it doesn't feel as solid as clicking in the center. Also the screen moves left-right a bit. Kinda think that would be caught in QA. Internet pages will NOT load at all. Maybe its just a network thing this weekend.. Overall, kinda underwhelming, but, I'm an iphone user.
Post your experiences!!!

Data issue resolved: Verizon didn't set it up correctly at signup. :/

:) glad to see some OCF users got it. Definitely keep posting results! Also, speedtests would be really neat to see. We had a speed poll for the iphone 3G.

Have you tried the ones available at DSL Reports (http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest)?
One of my engineers got one and returned it the next day. He said it took him all of 10 minutes to make it crash and require a reboot. Not very impressive.

I can probably crash my iPhone in ten minutes, I've already had several third party apps crash the phone in the three weeks I've owned it, most recently UNO last weekend. It seems to be fairly easy to lock the iPhone with third party apps, that doesn't reflect well on the stability of iPhone's OS IMHO, and supposedly the iPhone uses the almightily stable OS X kernel... I'm just saying the iPhone isn't exactly a stable phone either. :)
Oh sorry, this thread is about the BlackBerry Storm. :p I like the Storm but was advised against it from friends due to reports of technical issues. The part about the screen jostling around would certainly bother me enough to the point of returning it. It is a very sexy phone though, they'll get the issues ironed out.

3rd party apps are always a concern but in the case of my engineer he was using the vanilla, out of the box software bundle. Like you I've heard a lot of reports about the half-baked nature of the Storm.
