Hello there :)

Rig specs :
CPU : Intel E8400 @ 3.0 GHZ (thinking of OC'ing it)
Memory : CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit
Mobo : ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP @n
Video card : EVGA 01G-P3-1284-AR GeForce GTX 280 SSC Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
HDD1 : Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
HDD2 : Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Case : COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower ( 3 x High Performance fan )
Optical : DVD-RW drive
+ wired usb Keyboard & mouse

What PSU wattage should i go for?

Brandwise i was thinking about SeaSonic Energy+ series. They have two models : 550W and 650W.

EVGA recomends that the PSU i use should be a minimum 550W. Should i take their advice and cough up an extra buck, go for the 650W PSU or am i cool with the 550W one?

PSU calculator 1 (http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine) : 410W
PSU calculator 2 (http://web.aanet.com.au/SnooP/psucalc.php) : 428W

Before i go out and buy the damn think i figgured it would't hurt to ask the pro's in the forum as well

Also, i'm not sure about the case as well...don't need anything flashy, main criteria in making my decision are quiet and clean (dust proof). A suggestion here would be helpful as well, the budget is ~100$.

Thanks!

The 550w is more than enough for a single 280GTX, especially with a Seasonic.

Agree, Energy+ 550 is enough, but for $70 I'd jump for BFG ES-800 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817702007) in a heart beat.
Man, sometimes I hate my country. :(

Well, thing is i don't see myself jumping ship to SLI anytime soon :). I'm just not that hardcore of a gamer :P. Maybe i'll up the system with a dedicated audio card and buy another hdd but that's it :)

I will however agree with you when it comes to hating your country, i'm from Romania as well :P. Forgot to fill ut the Personal info forms, will do right after i post this :)

Thanks for the advice 550W it is!

Forgot to mention, as far as the case goes, i went for the CM 690, has great reviews. Besides, Antec is a bit to pricey for my budget

oageru,

Many here have that CM 690 case and like it. As far as "dustproof," if you ever find a case like that, let me know! :)

My bad, dust-proof is utopia :P

Anyways, it seems to have better isolation than Antec Nine Hundred ... my other choice for a case.

Hmm, i haven't bought it yet so i'll do some more research in the Cases Forum :P
