I just recently ordered a 21.5" monitor with full HD 1080p native 1920x1080 resolution. I'm currently running on dual 7800GTs in SLI, and I was wondering would I need to upgrade my cards to get the most out of monitor in its native res since my cards are not HDCP-compliant? I'll mostly be using the monitor as an HTPC for Blu-ray movies and light gaming (WoW).

The cards should do fine for you needs.
for a htpc is should be more than enough :)

There may be issues w/ playback w/ certain movies if the gfx cards are not HDCP compliant.

As far as I am aware HCDP hasn't been implemented on any films to date. Although if it does start being used then you will need to upgrade your GFX cards. A cheap 8600GTS would be fine. I use my 2x 7800GT's on my Samsung 22inch for HD films and have had no problems. Get my new 8800GT end of the week tho :-)

Y you going 8800GT? A 4850 is a better performance per dollar than any card in the world.
If you still want an 8800GT I'm going to sell mine on ebay :santa:
I heard that some blu-ray movies require a pretty beefy video card. Does anyone know if that is valid or that's just someone with a Geforce 4?

Im getting a 8800GT mainly because I'm a big nVidia fan, and I also have a sli mobo so will be getting another 8800GT in a couple of months. The last time I used an ATI card in my main rig it was a 9800 (XT, I think), years back. And I think any card with H.264 decoding capability would do for Blu-ray films. It's 3D power shouldn't make a difference. A decent dual-core CPU is a must tho.
