Okay heres the problem, While removeing the heatsink I had put on a few long time ago ( and I mean a long time) I found I had knocked a small cap or something off...I took pics and can someone please tell me which way it goes...I dont want to put it back on backwards and fry it.

Im going to put the ram sinks on and a blue orb, if it fits, This card was the first REAL 3d card I ever had since my Cyrix 266 days..., then to a K6-2 500, then AThlon 550, 1ghz Athlon Tbird, and if it lives it will be a tempory card in a dualie p3 machine being built in mid summer. Im not going to retire this card to my dads machine which just views his email box every other day.

I worked hard to get it and lately its been showing its age so if its going to go to the overclocking gods it gonna go down with a fight.

Well here comes a 600x450 res pic.

Ive got my old V3 in my old mans machine. I may go see him this weekend, and if no one has replied by then for you, ill see if I can take a look. Just email me to remind me.

I had the V3 2000. I but vantec pentium HSF on it, with a decent fan, used ram sinks, and even a small HSF on the back of the card.

It maxed out at 180mhz, I think before it maxed at 165 or so, maybe higher. Man, those cards get HOT! The processor could cook dinner for you, and the voltage regulator will burn you especially if its overclocked! Be carefull! ;)

ok looking at my voodoo3 3000.... cable connectors down, the writing on the cap is properly oriented. (right side up) the numbers on my cap are different than your though, but from the picture you posted everything else is the same. hope this helps. i will try to post a picture if my camera can focus in that tight.

Okay, which way are they faceing, like is the first number going toward the the outside of the card or toward the inside to where it slides into a PCI/AGP port?

Yes the cards run very hot, I did burn my finger on teh voltage regulator when I first got teh card ( long time ago)...hehe...bet they could cook food... I havent decided on a heatsink for the GPU, cause the ram sinks cover 2 mem chips and take up even more space...

the first letter away from the slot connector. like i said the letters are oriented properly when the cable connectors pointed down. i know its kinda hard to explain but i hope this makes it a little more clear.

I don't have a cam so I'm going to try overlaying quickly what it looks like on my V3 2000.

I'd check around some more just to be sure.

my voodoo 3 2k looks like the pic that crystal method posted except that my cap has "R143CA8K" written on it.

Just so you know, that is NOT a CAP (or capacitor) it is crystal occillator, so it really doesn't matter which way it goes back on.

BTW, Radio Shack has these if the leads on yours are to short to solder back...:D
