my xp 1500+ died.... BUT

i got a new 1600+ the only problem is the motherboard i had the 1500 in is dead also... not sure how it happened but it is so now i am only on a 100fsb sdram board so my 1600+ is only running at 1.05ghz but i am going to get a new ddr board asap

I know that feeling :( I've lost two XP's but fortunately neither mobo was damaged. It's a helpless sickening feeling when you smell that burned odor.

accualy i did it trying to install my new water cooling. i took a few niks out of my core and i guess i must have did something to the motherboard also when trying to install it.... after i knew it waz dead i practiced doing it so i wouldent mess up when i had another live processor to put it on and now i can do it pretty eazy.
now i just wish i had a better motherboard.... only a msi k7t pro2-a i am running on and it only has the kt133 chipset so i dont have a 133fsb :( but accualy i am happy at least it is running the xp because i didnt think it would

well i'm back up and running now :) got myself an asus a7v266-E motherboard with a athlon xp 1600+ now all thats left to do is get my sig updated and start crunching and tweaking again
