Well, I scoured the forums for an answer to my problem that I am having with Outlook but have not found one that helps. So here goes.

I should start before this problem happened. I was running win 2k and win XP on 2 separate partitions of my HD but was having troubles with XP so I decided to reformat the partition and reinstall the OS. Once I did this I first lost my boot screen which lets me choose OS(another story) so therefore I can't get into win 2k which is where my email is set up. I don't really care about getting into 2k I just want to know how I can go about retrieving my email while in win XP?

I reinstalled MS Office in XP while saving a copy of my old install of Office so I can hopefully retrieve my email. Is there a file that I can tell Office to use from my old install that will have my emails on it? Is it possible to retrieve these emails?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

can XP see the 2K PRO partition??

if so - good your safe! do a find/search on that partition for *.pst

I believe it is pst - that is the file outlook creates when it saves your emails.... then just drag and drop into your outlook xp program and BAM! all your emails are recovered.

PM me if it doesnt work or if it does I want to know and if you maybe have more questions....

Joe

**edit** I checked out my system and yes it is a PST file....
