View Full Version : OCZ Ram looking different?

So I finally got my 4 gigs of OCZ model # OCZ2RPR800C44GK ram in the mail: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227267haven't had a chance to test it yet but the problem is it doesn't look like this:

instead it has 1 silverish ( not gold like in the picture ) tube connecting to the top heat sink thingy. Is this some kind of new cheaper model or something I should be concerned about? It shares the same model #, thanks in advance for any feedback.

*update* seeing all the customer reviews, I see everyones complaining about these new aluminum pipes connecting the heat spreader, so my new question is..does anything think this is less effective then the original design and merely a money saving scheme?

No. These use Powerchip ICs and don't run hot to begin with. The heat spreaders are almost a moot point.

ocz has been changing there stuff up lately my 2 gigs of reaper 1150 dont make the full conduit but run way cooler then my friends with the full conduit...
ocz is the best just trust them:)
