View Full Version : Just wont get stable
I have a 1.33 Tbird that i've tried to overclock to 11x138. I upped the voltage to 1.775 and the computer booted, but i barely got into the OS. I restarted with the voltage at 1.8, The computer seemed to run fine, but major things would just crash. I agained upped it to 1.825 (i can only up in .025 volt incraments), and nothing bad happened for a while, but after a few minutes i again had crashing. So, should i go up to 1.85volts? Just for your info, my temps are 38-39C for the mobo and, when at 1.825 volts, my cpu was at 47.5C (the highest its ever been).
you could try uping the volts a little more. there are poeplr that run 2.2 volts to their cpu. you also might wanna try to lower your temps some.

I have a couple of cpus that run at 1.85 all the time with no trouble and load temps in the low to mid 40c range.
If the temps you mention are idle temps, then cooling is the problem: once you start utilizing the cpu things heat up quite a bit!
How is your case cooling? An easy check is to take off the side of your case and if temps improve than the case needs better cooling (more fans!)
Case cooling can be tricky because airflow patterns are hard to figure out exactly, so experimentation may be needed!
