hi guys had an idea for a cheap water cooling solution

right here goes

parts would be window screen washer bottle with built in 12v pumps as theres one for front and one for rear use both pumps with a non return valve and a y connector to pump 2 lines into 1 then go into a heater matrix from an old car then onto the block and back to the washer bottle.

just wondering if the pumps would shift enough water to cool cpu i will try this but just in case someone already has is it worth trying.

hope to hear your comments

I know that heater matricies from old cars are great for PC cooling, but I have no idea what the rest of your post says. How about a picture?

well on a car you have a washer bottle that holds the water for washing your window screen through the jets that aim at the screen the pump that pushes the water through these jets is 12volt just thought this would be ok to push water round the system in a water cooling set up

Yes but look at how little they produce though and those are pin holes, no where near 1/4" or 1/2" like commonly seen in water cooling setups. How would you hook up tubes to them?

Too little output to be effective at all.

Try it. Take Pics. Let us know.

I think it will work. Koolance uses about the same setup.

thats what i thought koolance use 12v so i'll give it a shot and see what happens but first will locate all bits needed and do some dry runs before i unleash it on my unlocked 1800xp.

The idea is cheap, though. I'd rather have a US$20 McGeyver(sp.) setup that got me a little above ambient than a $300 setup that looked great and got my CPU to -20°C.
There's nothing like sitting back and saying to yourself "I made that setup for 12% for what it would have cost me to buy."

"I made" is worth more than a very great amount.

Made my bong watercool for under $50, must say I'm glad to make rather than buy. Considering making my own rad. now for more portability and less space come time for college... who knows what will happen then. I bought a fairly cheap pump and made a couple modifications...

Wonder if I'll have to watercool my overclocked watercooling system?
