Indeed, another Vista cry story

I can't get Command and Conquer Generals working with Vista Premium 64 bit, it freezes on the splash screen like it does for most people, I've tried the options fix found on Hexus

Edit: the solution is to create an options.ini, find instructions here: http://forums.hexus.net/1039984-post34.html

Which if I am doing it right, I went into my Generals file, and make a text document, pasted the necessary data in and re-saved as Options.ini but still froze...

I've tried running as Administrator

I've tried running as XP SP2 and Windows 2000

Really want to play me game =[

Really considering getting XP again n deleting Vista

Thankyou so much if anyone can help :)

The game doesn't freeze on the splash screen. It just takes an absurdly long time to run the first time you run the game. Just let it sit for 10 mins or so at the splash screen and the game will play.

During the splashscreen it will come up with a little error message in the background if its left for around a minute but the splashscreen will remain up, shall I just leave it n it'll load in like 10 minutes?

You paid how much for the software to do that?

#1. It's EA.

#2. The game came out in 2003.

#3. It's EA.

Not working perfectly with a new OS is understandable considering the circumstances.

Yes. Just let it be. Vista will think the program is not responding, but just let it be and it will eventually work.
