Heat is probably the biggest issue holding you back. Depending on how big you wanna go, you can make quite a few little mods that will get you some more Mhz. ..of course most will void your warranty. :)
I removed the stock fan and added a little copper core mod and larger fan originally..check this post (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49875). I was able to get to around 250/550 stable (many loops of 3dmark01) with that mod but I couldn't let it go.
I ended up removing the heatpad from the gpu and I placed a copper shim between the gpu and heatsink. It's a little extreme, but I added a 36cfm fan (delta style) mounted on a homemade arm just below the card. :D ..seriously. Placed properly, blowing lots of air on each set ramsink and the center of the gpu sink.
All told, I can run loops of 3dmark01 @ 260/575. Next stop...water cooling :)
thanks for the advice.
So i am not to bad at 250/550.Is this about the cards limit.
I will try a little more radical cooling:cool:

See my sig. I can go higher, but feel comfortable at this setting. I guess I'm afraid of decreasing the life of the card by overclocking too much.

I keep mine at default when not playing games. When in game mode, I run it at 260/590, and have run at 600 with no probs at all, I tried 605, but was getting some breakup. I have upgraded the fan/ heatsink (crystal orb) and have 2 80's blowing air on a bracket at it.
