Stargate The Last Stand

this is for all the stargate fans heres a little info about it

Stargate: The Last Stand is a total conversion mod for Half-Life2. What does this mean? Well, it means that the development team are stripping the Half-Life2 (a.k.a 'Source') engine down to its bare bones, and re-building a completely new game from the ground up. In the Stargate: The Last Stand multiplayer games, players will play on one of two teams, Goa'uld, or Tau'ri. Each team will contain one base class (for example Airman for the Tau'ri) and 4 special classes for which players can nominate themselves for (for example Dr. Daniel Jackson for the Tau'ri). Each class will be armed with its own weapons and unique physical abilities, and will be challenged with our central gameplay 'The Last Stand'.

they are currently taking internal beta applications and the mod should have its first release sometime this month, its gonna be awesome, im hoping to have my new rig built before its released :santa::attn::clap::bday:

I tried Stargate TC2, it was pretty lame with noone playing it... although it was beta too.

However, this mod really has my attention, along with MESA Source.

yeah but i have kinda lost hope for mesa there isnt hardly ever any news (yes i have seen the newest video) just stupid/boring blog posts, atleast with tls theres pretty much some type of news about the mod

mesa will arrive im sure, when however is entirely another question! I am guessing mid to late 2009.

this mod could be great, it could also be really really, bad, guess time will tell :)

and if you can pick actual people we will probs just see a sea of O'neills :/

I guess all you peeps who posted in this thread recognize my "location" then :)

SG-1 defitly tops.. altohugh the DVD movies were ... crappy... Atlantis isnt too bad.... Im on season 4 now... it grows on you... but SG-1 thats a standby, when I have nothing to do, SG-1 always entertains.. (seen every epsidoe so many times I know which ones to skip now :))

lol they also have some stargate maps for counter strike source and of course you cant forget the stargate mods for garrys mod :) so much stargate so much fun :) also i liked the dvd movies and i hate that season 5 of atlantis will be the last :(

SG-1 was awsome up to Season 8. 9 and 10 kinda bored me, felt like they were money grabbing abit, the films and atlantis fall in the same vein for me. still very fun to watch but they miss some of the shine origonal SG-1. think im gonna buy the dvd boxset after xmas :) so cheap for soooooo many hours of entertainment

SG-1 was great as said til Season 7. 8,9,10 tappered off, but I still enjoyed it (got the whole entire set even movies). Atlantis was great as well, and sadly im not looking forward to them cutting them off so damn quick. Its sad I just found what 2 weeks ago that the series was ending Janurary :(

Gotta get the Atlantis box set though, since I don't have any of those yet, and of course I'll nab the movies as well. Sucks Sci-Fi kicked it out soo quickly.

Intresting news with the game though, look forward to it. Then we have the MMO coming up of Stargate as well.

I found out in this thread 5 was the last season lol :( ah well, gonna enjoy watching it all again when I get the 5 season box set when its released :)

ye, im still unsure how that stargate MMO will work, as you 'level' up you unlock new technology? or maybe no leveling system at all? certainly sounds intreguing though

That was given a green light finally? I know it was sort of on/off over the past few months if it was going to happen. Glad it is can't wait to see what new things they will come up with.

i know theres ALOT of fans who dont wanna watch sgu cause of sga ending but im going to give it a shot might be good

looks like it got the green light the same day atlantis was announced to be ending. Maybe peoples contracts were ending for atlantis and they were being unreasonable about their demands for new contracts.

tbh I imagine universe will be very similar to atlantis
