I have an SX635 on the way. I know zilch when it comes to case fan performance/noise. Looking to buy some 80's with little noise and good cooling performance. TIA
bel
I had (and currently use in my case) Sunon 30CFM+ 80mm case fans, ball bearing and very quiet.

Although my favorite's are Sunon and Delta for good airflow but low noise I hear Panaflow is the best. Just my suggestion. I forget the website. But theyre is one which has all the recordings of the levels of noise a particular fan makes. kinda like listenbefore you buy I guess. I cant remember the link though. grr.

The BEST CFM to dBa ratio of all is this fan, the Silencer by PC Power & Cooling, 28CFM @ 20dBa. I like these better than the Panaflo's and at only $9 a pop, you can't beat it and I think they offer free shipping.

Ive never used those. But 9 dollars wow. Good price.
www.sidewinder.com is the place where you can listen to them BTW.

I wasn't able to find any sound files or comparisons on that one site though. No biggie. I'm definitely thinking about that silencer and they do have free UPS ground shipping.

I like 172mm fans. Big and heavy but you get a lot of air at low speeds and they cope with pressure a lot better than the weedy little fans - net result more real airflow instead of a fan that pushes 1/10 of it's rated airflow in a real cooling setup.

All the fans don't have noises. but a good portion of them do.

The Sunon 80mm had a 32.5 dBa 36cfm and I could hardly hear it. The Silencer is reported to have 20dBa(Is it on?:) ) and 28cfm. So it is going to come down to airflow vs my hearing sensitivity I guess. Great Reseller ratings on that Sidewinder company. PC power & cooling was good too. You guys know where to shop fans thats for sure:D

Panaflo has my vote. Check out CaseEtc.com (http://www.caseetc.com) That's where I bought mine.
I just bought a ~15watt 127mm AC fan that supposedly pumps 130cfm at 29Db. (as listed on the orion site... allied electtronics says it is 39Db)
it is Orion model OA119AP-11-1. I bought it and a few other bits from Allied which i will neer do again. They sent each of the three items it its own little box and charged me to ship each box ... and they don't email shipping costs until the CC is charged. Over $23 for shipping!
