View Full Version : Can a 8800 ultra go up to 1080p?
I just hooked up my PC to my new 1080p tv. When I go to the setup wizard and it brings up definition type, its shows up to 1080i. Below the wizard setting there is the signal setting which goes up all the way to 1080p. The screen looks pretty bad unless I have it all setup at 720p on both of these settings. Can I get 1080p off this card? And if so how?

your card should. hell, my 7200GS can do 1080p. what input on the TV is it? some TVs can only do 1080p on certain inputs.
Probably is your TV or monitor
It's hooked to the hdmi hook up on the side of the tv. My tv is a brand new 1080p philips. The input is on HDMI 4. What should i do? Thanks Eric

Check your manual for your TV to make sure input 4 can accept a 1080p signal.
I'm sure all the HDMI ports are 1080p.
I can select 1080p in the signal format. Should I just select it and not mess with the wizard? The wizard is the definition type though. Should I have both set at 1080p or should I just select 1080p on the signal and be done with it. I think they should both be on the same setting. If I dont touch the wizard i believe its on a stock setting. Maybe 720p. So if that's the case I have my signal set different than my definition. Any ideas?
Make sure your resolution is 1920x1080 first. Next make sure there are no drivers needed for the HDTV.
I have 1080 selected on signal. My resolution is at 1080. I just wont go to wizard and mess with the definition. I hope its at 1080p where its at now.
My resolution is set at 1920x1080 when i select the signal setting on 1080p. I'm just curious as to why it doesnt have that option under the wizard to HDTV setup. It only goes up to 1080i there,
sometimes its dumb my 8800gts does that too
1080p= 1080x1920 at 60hz not 50hz which is 1080i
