This is with all graphic settings at ultra high with AA enabled.
Yeah the game is great, as long as you have the hardware to run it at those settings. Most people cant even run high

Depends on what you want. Payware, freeware, prop driven, jets, general aviation aircraft....commercial jets.
AVSIM and Project Open Sky have a lot of freeware.
ive been thinking of getting this for awhile but i downloaded the demo and didnt have a clue what i was doing so didnt get far.
does it give you proper flying lessons ingame? and do you need a joystick to play it properly?
You will have the best experience with the game with a joystick. Ive found it nearly impossible to play using the keyboard or any othr means of controlling the plane besides a joystick
Having used both a joystick with just a slider throttle and now i have a joystick with a separate throttle, i recommend you have a separate throttle like the saitek x52.
Remember, its a simulator, not so much a game. There is lessons to play and it helps you work your way up to the big planes, but you have to be patient. Its actually pretty easy to get around the missions once you figure everything out. I still cant fly a chopper for crap but i can land a 747

:) being a sim is what appeals to me! ive just dug out my OLD joystick, a predator sv 85 but i dont know if it'll do the job. thx dude :santa2:
whoa, that saitek is some serious kit. i'd love to have it though but for now i should see if the game seriously grabs me enough to get involved enough to invest in it.
on another note ive heard you can only install this game on 1 pc, but the info was quite vague. does this mean 1 pc at a time or once its activated i cant uninstall/install on another pc? i only ask because it seemed that i can only install it once, from the info i got which seems a bit harsh.
I've got issues with the game, don't know quite what's wrong. I've got a pretty good PC, but this thing just seems poorly coded and not optimized worth jack. Or maybe something's up with my settings. I should logically be able to max settings on the game, but textures take a long time to load(I get wireframe models for a second upon loading level.)
E8400@3.5GHz
HD4850
4GB DDR2
On Vista 64bit....
Who knows.

Make sure to install SP1 for the game, also this game like alot of CPU power more than video card power, i would see if you can get that E8400 close to 4ghz or more and then it should be better.
I takes a long time to load at any rate but isnt too bad.

Yeah the game is pretty CPU intensive. I'm averaging 30FPS with my setup, ~20 in crowded airports. That's with FTX(Blue,Green,Gold), REX and FSGlobal mesh add-ons.

Ah, I'll try that. I can run the e8400 @4.0GHz without too much trouble, I just tend to run it at 3.5GHz.
Thanks

try flying over something other then open desert, get a screen shot while taxing down a busy airport strip or flying over a town...
