Hi,
I recently got a Dell Studio 1535 laptop in which i want to upgrade the harddrive. Currently inside is a Hitachi 160gb 5200rpm drive.

I have a OCZ core ssd 64gb v2 drive that i am thinking of popping inside the laptop. What do you think?

My other option would be to buy a Seagate momentus 7200rpm drive for the laptop. Which do you think would give me the best results?

If this was my case i would say both :p my big lappie has two slots. but that isn't the case for you. I'm pretty sure that you are not going to be gaming on it, so I would sell the SSD and get a 7200RPM 320GB or a 500GB 5200RPM drive.

im looking for overall "zippyness" of a drive. I want it to be quick and responsive, fast loading. Would a 7200rpm drive be better in this regard over my ssd?

For light stuff, like word, email, youtube videos, etc. Then a standard HDD is fine and you get a lot more space. But if space isn't necessary and money is no object, then go for the SSD. You can always get another laptop HDD and put it in a small 2.5inch HDD cage for portability.

If space isn't necessary, use the SSD with Steady State. It'll definitely give you the zippiness you're talking about, but in exchange for less disk space and much longer boot times. If that's not worth it for you, then go with a 7200rpm drive.
