Hey guys, pardon the newbie...great forum you have here!

I just got my 2nd shuttle ak31 mb (I had a DOA AGP slot on my first one also, but this one works like a charm)

one quick ques - I've got (512) crucial 2100 DDR Ram in my system - should I set my Dram timing manually and push it? or do any of you know stable dram settings for 2100 Ram?

I noticed another memory thread, but most of you guys have 2400 or 2700 RAM and I tried the increased memory settings (Dram Manual timing, cas 2, etc....)

I had been running at the increased RAM settings for a week stably but then I tried an unreal looping demo test and after 3 hours my computer BSOD'd (flashing an memory dump error i think)

I was also testing my radeon 8500 overclockability at the time as well.

after my comuter froze, it would POST, but then it would freeze at the detecting drives stage. I would have to unplug ALL my Hard drives and CD Drives and reboot and reset the BIOS for the comp to recognize my HD again. Does this sound like a memory problem or a vid card problem or something else (processor is not overclocked - but i did take off my northbridge fan and replace it with a zalman heatsink, but my ambient case temp - even during the torture test is a cool 25 C. )

I would very much appreciate any ideas whatsoever.

Thanks guys!

sorry guys...some more info...
i have an AMD XP 1600+ and processor temp does not go over 42C even during a few hours of extreme torture testing, so i dont think its the processor.

also,

i have done some memory research - does anybody know how the crucial 2100 is rated? (CAS 2.5 at 266 or cas 2 at 266?)

I think i am getting closer to answering my own question, but hopefully somebody can guide me on my way!

thanks again,
volodar

First, welcome to OCer's.com :D

Ya finally asked a question I can answer :)

Crucial PC2100 is cas 2.5 but I've had mine at cas 2 since I bought it :D
