View Full Version : What is the norm?
I normally move 2 to 4 spots up in ranking everytime I do move up. Just wondering if this is about the norm.

At the point where you are presently at, it's quite normal to move up more than 1 spot at a time. After you get to the top 125 or so, it's pretty uncommon to move more than 1 spot unless you are Folding with multiple machines.

after i got to the 130s i havent budged, but in about a week in a half i was able to get there...it was easy...movin up 3-5 spots each time...
I actually have 2 machines running. I have my moms running also besides mine. I have hers set up on team 32 and in my stats it says only one active processor. Am I not getting credit for hers?
It depends on what she is using and how long she lets it run. I have installed the client on a few machines that I suspect may not be turning the work in on time, because they aren't allowed to run constantly. PIII 800-1000's. Anything slower and they probably wouldn't be much help unless they were on just about all the time.
its a p 200 mmx. It takes about 4 days to do a WU. Should I just stop it from folding?

i don't believe your p200 should be dropped as it has 6days in which to complete a wu... i have my PII 233 folding, it turns in work in about 4 days!
It's fine as long as it's always on. They are good for the project but a lot of machines need to be on all the time in order to do it. , Like Lennytiger said if the work is gettting turned in and accepted in less than 6 days then you're good.

Wyno,
How long ago did you set up your Mom's machine Folding? It's been my experience that it can take 2 days or so for a new machine to show up sometimes after it turns in it's first WU. It took that long for my laptop to show up after it turned in it's first WU.
I set it up a week and a half ago. It has done one wu and almost another.

That should have been long enough for it to be in the database by now. Maybe your Mom is turning the machine off when she leaves the house or something and it isn't getting the work done in the time limits. Also, another thing to consider is if your Mom's computer supports multipliers in the 5.0-5.5 range is to upgrade the proc to a K6-2. I've done that with some older Shuttle TX boards and made 400's out of them. If it supports higher multipliers, PM or email me. I have a K6-2 333 proc sitting in a drawer doing nothing that I'll contribute to the Folding cause for the cost of shipping; which I figure should be less than $5.
Just another thought: Have you double checked your config in the F@H client? Just makes sure that you have everything entered correctly. Also, did you copy the machine ID from your main rig and put it in your Mom's rig? I read a post that someone had done that. The Stanford servers would then think it was only 1 machine turning the WU's in and not 2.

It should be registering, try uninstalling then reinstalling the client this should give the machine a new ID, thus allowing the Stanford Servers to see 2 machines instead of 1! ;)
Happy Folding,
Lenny
