I had my usb stick (kingston datatraveler 4gb) in my 2nd pc, i deleted a file on it. Removed it and inserted it into my main pc, but it didnt auto run as usual and it only showed up as "removeable disk" in my computer, and when i tried to enter it, it said "please insert disc".

Then i went to google and found tons of information, but nothing that really helped.
I tried to: reset bios to default, reinstalled usb controller drivers, reinstall chipset driver, tried it in another pc, other usb ports. changed its drive letter.. no luck, some changes tho.

Now i can enter the stick, but nothing on it, cant format it, cant create anything on it. still only shows as "removeable disk". cant see it in windows diskmanagement anymore, cant acces it with any rescue/part/killdisk tools..:bang head

Windows xp pro sp3 on both machines. 2nd machine was a few updates behind if that matters.

Any ideas on how to make it work, would be appreciated. or http://www.willitblend.com/?

I can't remember what exactly one of my USB sticks did when it died, but if you have tried formating under linux and it still dosen't work then I would just call it dead and buy a new one. USB sticks are cheap nowdays, not worth putting up with one that dosen't want to work.

Yeah they are cheap, and i didnt have any important files on it. but annoying none the less :( . Installing ubuntu on another machine now to try that (lol i dont know anything linux. so this will be great learning)

Update:
Dont seem like Ubuntu wants to find it either?.. at startup.

..... Device descriptor read/64, error -110
..... Device descriptor read/64, error -110
..... Device descriptor read/8, error -110
.............. fails and continues to boot into ubuntu.

did you try formatting it? if you pull the drive out w/o 'safely remove hardware' that can cause problems.
