So realistically, what's the difference between something like these G.Skills (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166) and these Dominators (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214)? They both look the same on paper, 1066mhz and 5-5-5-15, but would the Dominators be able to be tightened up more? And in actuality, how much real world (gaming) difference will tighter timings make? The speed won't really matter too too much, probably won't be running them even at 1066mhz, my ram is barley touching 900mhz now on 1:1. A little insight would be awesome, thanks =)

Dominators will run faster speeds. They both will do about 850 at 4-4-4.
Faster speeds mean higher performance.
Here you go...same FSB
4-4-4 @ 1:1

5-5-5 @ 4:5

Read Copy, and Latency all improve.
Real world improvement depends on you applications and expectations.

Thanks for the benchmarks. Bigger numbers in benchmarks are always nice, but would those different timings actually make a difference in gaming? Would having roughly 10% better read/copy/latency mean anything while gaming? I don't really have any expectations at this time, just trying to see how much difference it will actually make.

The Dominators are $39 after MIR. They give you the flexibility to run however your system works best. Some people swear it makes no difference, others a significant difference. Nobody knows exactly what your system will do.
Then again, this is OC Forum...we are here to squeeze all the performance we can from our machines!:santa:
P.S. You can see what I believe from my sig.
