Cable or DSL

Does anyone have an opinion on which service is best. I now have ADSL and my 1 yr subscription just ended so now I will pay full price (49.00. I looked at att broadband but they do not offer high speed internet in my area yet. Are they other cable providers that I could look at? If so could you link me? I'm pretty happy with my DSL connection because I get way above average speeds (for DSL), but I'm always looking for more. Another thing to consider when giving an opinion is that I have 4 comp. networked and all will be online.

if cable is in your area i would go for it, i have cable, and yes the speeds are rather inconsistant but at no times is the speed even close to being slow. i get up to 600KB/s in the middle of the night and that slows down to about 200KB/s durring peak hours

I have qwest VDSL and my average speeds are 589Kbps. and get sloooooower from there.
Go cable if you can.

I liked my cable when I first got it but now its very slow and disconnects during peek hours

I say if you have cable in your area and not may people are on it get it, I used to host 20 person lans on it before it got bad so you have plenty of bandwidth
