Well, I just bought a Tai Chi case last weekend with all the cheap water cooling it comes with. It's in really good shape, and the guy sold it to me for $120.

Basically it except for a different pump, which is dead now anyways.

Soooo, I'm in the market now for a pump and another copper block. It came with a 775 block and I'm a pretty avid AMD kinda guy.

I'm going to change out that itty-bitty reservoir with something else. Haven't decided yet, but gonna work something up. That should be simple enough.

The radiator on it seems to be decent enough, but I guess I'll find out how it does with a decent pump, good size reservoir, and copper block.

I'll post some pics as soon as I get my other phone charged. It actually takes decent pics.

Tim

edit: It also came with an FSP AX500-A psu. 17.5 amps on both 12v+ rails. Hmm, might hold onto that for a bit unless I wind up getting one hell of a video card. I doubt it though.

Looks like I'm gonna replace that radiator also.

Took all the water cooling crap out of the case tonight. Took the radiator apart, looks like the tubing is aluminum. I'm sure someone else somewhere has noticed this also.

Well, think I still got a decent deal on the case at least. :santa: If not, I don't really care. lol

The only thing I'm keeping out of the cooling part are the two 120 fans mounted to the radiator. The rest is trash.

That's good though, now I can go up to 1/2" system instead. =)

Laing D4 pumps are on sale at petrastechshop for $30, and you can get a swiftech MCR220 for 45 to 50 and what kinda block did it come with? you may be able to get mounting brackets for various AMD sockets.

Thanks for the info Loki.

Those looks like some good prices there.

they seem to be among the best and are very popular on these forums, they will be where I purchase the bulk of my setup from, pretty much everything but my tubing i think. I have heard that the D4 pumps are loud. I'm thinking of maybe doing the MC355 with an XSPC reservoir top instead

I bought 4 of the D4 pumps from Petra's and tried one of them out and while it had a slight whine to it, it wasn't real loud or anything. I guess I will test the other 3 out and see how they sound too.

BTW, the D4 pumps I received from Petra's were labeled Corsair Micro (yes, the memory and psu folks).

EDIT: BTW, I have a MCP355 w/XSPC top in use now and it is quieter than the D4 I tested, FYI.

Cool.

I'm gonna get one of those D4 pumps.

Gonna look around these parts and see if I can find a decent shape heater core to use instead of buying one. I'm cheap, yes.

Btw Loki, the block is a thermaltake 775. I don't see any sort of part # though, but I'll check it with some AM2's I have here at the shop and see if maybe I can get it to fit.

Took some pics I'll post later, nothing special. They're all on my phone atm.

you can always make a bracket, though i wouldn't expect the best results with their blocks.

Agree with you there.

yea, I would look at something like the D-Tek Fuzion V2 or a Swiftech Apogee GTZ, for the CPU block, and then I think you should be set up pretty nicely.
