I'm just posting this as a heads up to anyone who's looking to upgrade an older DDR1 system. I wanted to upgrade my old 939 system to 2GB on the cheap, so I got a Wintec 2GB DDR400 kit off Newegg for $40. I expected it to be the usual crappy value ram, but I didn't really need any super-overclockable stuff.

But I got it and saw that it had Hynix D43 chips on it, so I decided to give it a go and now have it running at 265mhz 3-4-3-11 at 2.8V, and can probably tweak a bit more out of it with a little effort. The timings aren't great, but still, DDR533 for $40 (looks like it's up to $43 now) is a pretty sweet deal for anyone in need of some more RAM.

Nice. I would still rather these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227210

Except that those have a MIR on them, and OCZ is pretty notorious for not honoring those. Yeah, it's prolly pretty good ram, but for an older system, $65 is more than I'd want to spend on RAM.

Great find! A link to where you purchased them would be awesome.

Sorry...I got mine from them.
