I don't know too much about GPUs and such, as I recently built my first gaming PC in over 5 years. So I am trying to educate myself as much as possible.
I bought an ATI Radeon HD4850 and did the fan tweak to my liking, and I can get it to idle around 55C at 30% fan speed, fairly silent.
What should my target be when I am gaming? What is the temperature after which you say that it's just "too hot to be safe"?
I am still in the testing phase for my games but if I put my fan at 40-45%, it's not terribly loud but it does start to get a bit annoying, with temperatures in the 70-80 range. Is this ok? What should my target be while gaming?
Also I checked on ATI's website for some suggested safe temperature ranges but couldn't find any :( Maybe i'm blind.
