Which Slots to use

I was wondering,I have 3 memory slots on my board,and I only have 2- 256 Dimms,is there any performance gain in which slots you use?
Like putting them side by side,or skip a slot,one and then skip a slot then another Dimm?
Someone told me to space the memory for better performance,but I wanted to check here first to see if it will work or leave them side by side..thanks

I do believe its better to place em in the slots closest to the cpu... :burn:

well first, allways read your manual before turning to us. We try to help all we can. but the manual is the best and closest form of info. Someone put a thread up about this, couldn't find it tho. but to answer your question.

On a mobo, their labled as

Dim1
Dim2
Dim3
...

put your first ram in dim 1, and second in dim 2, and so on. But splitting them up for better performace... umm, i have nver heard of this. but if its a fact. im willin to wing it!:beer:
