I have been using Distilled water and Hydrex for like forever now. I like the stuff a lot and it hasn't let me down, and it doesn't seem to damage primoflex tubing after long periods. (I change out tubing and coolant every 18-24 months, and haven't had any gunk in my lines ever). I had blue illumination with my entire water cooling setup UV green, but that is getting old.

I am building a new machine as my Opty 165 is getting a little long in the tooth, I will be running an all copper loop. The thing is that I plan to build a machine that is illuminated Red and the pale green of Hydrex doesn't really fit in. I'm more of a form follows function person so it kinda doesn't seem "right" to use something because it looks pretty. Are there any UV red (not pink plz) or clear coolants or additives that are close to if not better than good old h2o that wont rot my tubes?

I kinda want to use UV Red tubing and a reservoir filled with UV reactive coolant illuminated with UV fillport LEDs or black Tygon and clear fluid and use red fillport LEDs.

http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=47 that stuff is pretty good, just gotta play with it a bit to get the right mix for the right color. Closer to orange than pink than most I've seen. Just use it and straight water, some biocide wouldn't hurt either, but not needed if you change often enough.
