View Full Version : Questions about making a Waterblock..

1. Instead of forking out a lot of money for a tapering device, could you just use a threaded nipple with a hole that is just a tiny bit too small for the nipple's threads, and force the nipple to screw into the copper?
2. If I use a pipe fitting with the solder ring in it, what temperature does the solder need to get to before it'll melt?

If anyone has any alternative ideas to question 1 above, let me know.

Basically, if it forms a good connection, then yes...and if it doesn't then no....lol....but you may want to get a hose clamp or something of that nature (can be found in an auto parts store), to put some extra pressure on the hose so it won't slip.

Man, I can't remember the actual melting point of solder...but it is fairly low. I don't know exactly what you are going to use it for, so I can't really give you a good idea on how to melt it...maybe someone else knows what you mean here....
