I have just bought a set of Creatives DT3500 5.1 speakers, and am having a bit of trouble operating them.
They are connnected to a SB Audigy Player Card, and i am using the Digital DIN connecter for input.
However, when i go into the Audigy software surround mixer to test my speakers, and select 5.1 speakers from the list and Digital DIN input on the DT3500 amp, i only get sound from the left and right channels.
The strange thing is that when i select Optical or Co-axial on the amp as the input source (to which there is nothing connected), and select Digital DIN under the multi-channel controls, the Audigy test works fine, with the women's voice coming from each speaker.
The thing is, when i select Digital DIN as the input source on the amp, it won't let me select Digital DIN under the Multi-channel controls, only line-in.
Its as if the amp doesn't detect a digital signal from my sound card.
I am using the Audigy under XP, and i updated the drivers immediatley.
Thanks.

You have "Digital Output Only" checked in Surround Mixer/Speaker? On your amp/decoder, do you only have Fourpoint/5.1 Din in the CMSS and Digital Din in Multichannel selected? If so, then all 5 speakers should pass.
"The thing is, when i select Digital DIN as the input source on the amp, it won't let me select Digital DIN under the Multi-channel controls, only line-in." I believe this is normal. I have the same scenario.

i do have digital output only selected, and the configuration you suggested is setup, but still doesnt work with the audigy test. none of the music of movie modes work, they only playback stereo.

I have a similar problem with my audigy. I think the problem is that for some reason, the audigy is outputting 2 digital signals (the digital out is 2 channel, so it outputs one digital signal per channel). I realized this when i put it into 4 channel, and plugged in a phono to rca adaptor, and plugged it into the coax digital input of my home theatre reciever. Whe i plug in one channel, i get the front left and right, when i plug in the other, i get the rear left and right. in 5.1, i get a distorted front signal. Would it be that the audigy uses some sort of propriatery digital out?
