Well, I was feeding my fish this afternoon and noticed something. I have a 40g Plexiglass with a Wet/Dry Filter system. I measured the temps coming in from the heater box. I then measured the tempurature before it gets pumped back into the aquarium. I did notice that it was considerably cooler by the touch. So, thinking about it. I quickly drew up something like this. Water will enter the plexbox, hitting the perforation area, slowing it down, then dripping to another perforation area, I would guess that it will get cooled just by those 2 sections. Then falling into a turbulent area where 2 fans will blow into the section cooling the water even more, then hitting 1 last perforation before dripping into the resevoir below and into the pump. I have planned a vent so that the box can breathe and let warm air out. So...evaporation will occur, but I would get at a very slow rate like my fishtank. So, fillhole above. TADA! I would like to see what everyone thinks before I start to gather matarials. I am planning an all plex box. Thanks for you time :D

Talk to Phiber. He's using a 10gal fishtank without a radiator, and last I heard he was getting good temps, and that's without any sort of evaporator.

The biggest concern I see is the quality of the pump ... for fishy bubbles it is probably OK ... for cpu cooling, it needs to be "dead reliable" to work 24/7 for years ...

Good luck

For years? Even the best of pumps don't last that long in watercooling setups. Your supposed to check your pump every 6 months to a year to see if it is still working at peak capacity, but if you really want to get a new pump. I have two personal favorites:

Eheim and Danner Mag Supreme.

A few Eheim's can be found at www.dangerden.com
