ok i have a asus maximus 2 formula mobo and I am trying to install 2 identical 120 gig sata drives in raid 0. I pressed crl-i during post and configured the raid array as raid 0, and made sure it said bootable. I burned the f6 floppy disc(and verified the data)from my mobo setup cd, and loaded it during windows setup. there are several files on the disc, and my mobo manual instructs me to select "intel sata raid controller ich10r" from about a list of 10 options. When selected, this is the error i get:
"file \iastor.sys could not be loaded the error code is 4105"
and then it reboots and i tried a few of the other options in the f6 disc list, with the same message. Bios is set to read the hd's as "raid"
what could this be? any assistance is appreciated:santa2:

Instead of using the RAID driverset that came w/ your MB, download the newest Matrix Storage Manager driverset directly from Intel. And without knowing which OS you're trying to install, or whether it's x86 or x64, here's a link to the 64-bit Floppy Config. Utility...
Download the 64-bit Floppy Configuration Utility v8.6.0.1007 from Intel here...
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OSFullName=Windows+Vista*+64&lang=eng&strOSs=150&submit=Go!
... or use a USB flash drive to load the x64 drivers (assuming Vista is the OS). In this case you'll need to extract the driver files from the Matrix Storage Manager v8.6.0.1007 download. This installation readme shows you how to do that...

If trying to install XP, this is the driverset you'll need for the x86 version...

use nlite put all the drivers into windows CD is easier for you

Definitely. I created an XP SP3 Matrix install disk and it saves all the hassles of floppies. It was 15mins very well spent creating and burning teh iso.
With regards to the problem at hand I've found floppies to be remarkably unreliable for loading drivers so I'd probably prepare a few with different file versions of the intel storage drivers if you're unable to follow option 1 above and create a custom XP install disc.
