View Full Version : Bong and reservoir...?
Ok everyone I am done with my bong and I already have it all hooked up and running testing for leaks and what not. All together this thing holds barely over 1/2 gallon of H2O...not enough.
I need some ideas on reservoir placement so the system will continue to move water I am very worried about this. I'm thinking if the reservoir is not air tight the water will not continue to flow. I am also worried the bongs res. will get over filled (by 2nd reservoir) and dump water ever where.
current setup
In the first pic the pump is on the right side and the bong is on the left.
In the second pist the bong is still on the left and on the right the small box is the pump and the larger box is the reervoir.
This is just the first thought I also have extra 4 in. pvc I could use for the reservoir.
Where is a good place for the reservoir so the bong will stay pressurized?

Why do you think you need a resovior?
At the end of the bong there should be a pump which would go into your Water Blocks..
The idea of a bong is to not have a reservoir and radiator.

You got to refill with the bong. Res you don't have to and it is not loud. Also doesn't make you want to pee.

yea, you dont/shouldnt have a res and a bong..
the res would kill the whole idea of the bong design..
seeing the res would heat the water back up..
so youd just have a submerginal pump at the bottom of the water tower and ur set..

If you really want a reservoir for more water, you should try incorporating it into the bong, make it the base of it. I use a 5 gallon igloo watercooler, but that's the pretty high side of these setups, you could make the lower end of your bong longer with the 4" pvc pipe and it would hold much more water that way. if you wanna run a separate reservoir then you'll need to make it sealed so the pressure doesn't fill it up and spill out. I use a reservoir inside my case as well, the bong feeds it, but it's very small (1/4gal) and has a built in pump. i more or less left it in the system because i need to be able to disconnect my bong and still run the water system without it. it works quite well actually and my temps with or without the reservoir are the same. If it were me on your system, and cost needs to be kept down, i'd remove the existing base of the bong you have now, and make a different one using the 4" pvc or maybe go get a 4inch to 6inch adapter and a 6inch endcap from the locall hardware coliseum and glue that to the base to make the thing hold more water.

why areny u on aim lol!
Exactly,
Think large water tank (square, round, beer keg....hey that might work!?) in the that tank the pump......>.....computer............>...
back to tank. In between on the return side add a place for the water to evaporate and what ever else you want to dream up.
