This might help, or simply give you something to rate your 2 suggestions against... http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/flash2005.ars/8
OR... you could simply go to one of these... http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&taxonomyId=15&articleId=9124298&intsrc=hm_topic
or these... http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/flash_drives/ocz_throttle_esata_flash_drive
They blow everything else completely out of the water!
Just messing withya on the last two, so don't panic lol.
My personal preference for both reliability and speed, would have to the the Cruzer Titanium range. They are really robust and have pretty quick transfer speeds... I think you'll be impressed, and they don't cost you an arm and a leg. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3720271&CatId=2633 (TD is a really good firm to deal with)
AND... I found this interesting looking review (only a week old) or 21 drives... http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/22/21-usb-drives-tested-20-immediately-misplaced/

avoid the super tallent pico C although it is one of the fastest and easily the smallest the batch of them newegg has seem to be dying left and right even though older versions worked just fine.

Yep... grab a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium in the size you want, and you'll not be disappointed.

I loved my 1gb Flash Voyager, but i do have to say that after a while of use the rubber cap has some issues..
Since it's solid rubber with just some small gripping protuberances molded on the inside, there is nothing to help it hold on to the USB connector. So it starts to wear out and eventually starts falling off every time you turn your head.
