VIA's KT333A will be the next majoy step in the Athlon platform. Unlike the original KT333, which is expected to launch within the next two weeks, the KT333A will have AGP8X And V-Link.
On average, users with V-link technology and AGP8X will have about a 14% performance gain over the original KT333 chipset. The KT333A will be ready by fall (sept).
The point of this is that users of older athlon motherboards should wait a little longer before upgrading just yet becuase the A rev KT333 will get you in for a little extra performance plus AGP8X bragin rights.
