ARG.. my mem voltage and gpu voltages are fine and i have the 3.6 ns ram but when i hit 260/260 with powerstrip i get small dots on the screen.. beyond 260/260 more and more dots appear until it's almost impossible to use.. what am i missing?? or am i just unlucky.. :(

Welcome to the forums.

What you are seeing are artifacts. There could be a few things causing this. Could be the combination of the drivers and the clock speeds or just the clock speeds.

Have you done any bios flashes for that card?

I havn't done any bios upgrades yet.. I've only used powerstrip to pump up the core/mem speeds

P3z,

It wouldn't be smart for you to flash your bios, I say this because if your getting artifacts at 260/260, theres really no way for you to flash it as-is to a retail's 275/275 speed.

You would have to change two resistors or attempt the pencil trick

Or you can just enjoy your card at 250/250 or so as thats still a pretty fast card.

This article describes the OEM situation (http://www.overclockers.com/tips757/)

I've already checked my voltages and they're at the retail levels, but the problem is that when i use powerstrip i can't get past 260 without troubles.. even 260 is a bit of a stretch..

well i have heard of people on rage3d, being able to reach retail and beyond speeds because they flashed the retail bios....however, do as much Research as you can and BACK IT UP so you can flash back...and remember its your responsibility NOT Ati's.....so be careful, i personally think its too risk yfor the performance gain you get which is negligible in actual games...

p3z,

Try installing rage3d tweaker just to see if that will get you over 260

If you decide to flash it make sure you save your OEM bios like funny said. Also you may want to have a cheap PCI card on hand to reflash back to the OEM bios if you have a problem.

WOOHOO Success.. i flashed the mb to oem first.. since i could hit above the 250 on powerstrip.. and boy what a difference that made.. i was able to hit 275 with powerstrip after that.. so i flashed to 275 and on powerstrip i'm doing 285 now.. i can go higher.. but it's late.. more tweaking tomorrow!!... to anyone with oem's.. seriously consider flashing the bios.. just be careful ^_^
