is it possible to use a shim and place a temp probe for the cpu w/o it being lopsided?
also, why are copper shims bad?

copper can comduct electrity therefor burning your cpu..
altho i used a copper shim on my 1.2ghz tbird and i got -8F temp drop.. so i dunno.. i guess it just depeneds..
but i dont think u can get a temp prob and a shim on, unless u cut the cut for the temp prob to fit...
but IMO id not use the shim and just use the temp prob, just make sure, the temp prob is flat enough not to rasie the hsf from the core.. u could burn your cpu out in a flash!

well i already bought a thermaltake copper shim a couple days ago.
not caring about temps too much (waiting for watercooling), the shim is good for insurance rite?? i dont' think the thermaltake coppershim can touch the bridges since there's cutouts and the feet or whatever have cutouts as well that fit around them to prevent movement.
oh well, correct me if i'm wrong =)

Shims are good for stabilizing a sink or waterblock. Just be careful about it touching the core. Don't want anything shorting out.
