Ok i was running a gigabyte g31 board, 2g mushkin ddr800, e1200. Well last week i ordered a e5200 and had it overclocked to 3.5ghz at 1.45 in bios and in windows was like 1.42. Well it was doing good all week. Temps in prime with artic pro was 58c with 80 degree room temps. My multiplier was 11 or 11.5 something around that with fsb at 310 or close to it. Any way the computer started to act up when i would shut down in windows the moniter would shut off along with hard drives. But all my fans, power supply and mother board would stay on. Also in windows it wouldn't detect the right speed (vista ultimate) it would say 3.17ghz instead of 3.5 in which cpu-z showed the right.

Well last night i was bored and tried for 1.45 in windows to see how far i would get which got my to 3.7 which i didn't see worth the more temps and voltage so i backed it back down to 3.5. When i did this i loaded defaults and set it to 3.5ghz and was playing with the fsb to get my memory to run faster. In which i test when i had the e1200 in it would do 1000mhz with +.1v.

I then set it around 330fsb in which the onboard graphics started to get glitchy with 336. Got it stable then started to turn my voltage from 1.45 in bios down to see if i could get lower temps and still be stable. When i dropped it down one in bios saved and exited. When i did it save the settings and stayed on for 10mins with moniter black. So i shut it off started it back up. All fans came one, hard drives spun up like loading windows, everything. But moniter wouldn't come on. Reset cmos, took battery out over night.

Then gave it another shot. Same thing also noticed with computer off my mouse would stay lit up and keyboard. So i took my power supply out and stuck another working in. Same thing. So i took all the memory out and booted. No beeps or anything. So i put the e1200 in with a 512mb ddr2 chip i had. Still no go. So i've came to conclusion the motherboard went.

So i came to ask if that is what everyone else thinks since everything is still under warranty and i'm going to contact newegg about the motherboard.

On a side note this sucks for now as i'm out of a computer and have to use my roomates. And on top of that i was just look on the egg for another motherboard that could push the e5200 a little better..:( So on top of that does anyone have a recommendation on a motherboard for the e5200 around $100 with 4 memory slots with no onboard graphics. Also a cheap o video card to get me by on a few games. also the price on the board could be a little higher or less just looking for the best bang for the buck.

Thanks and sorry for the long post and possible misspelling as to last night was a long one..

It does sound like the board, but, I just went through tearing my system apart cause it would not boot, fans turned on, but thats it, kept powering down and back up. Turned out to be a bad stick of ram (1 of 4 installed). I would double check that to make sure, all you need is 1 stick of known good ram to boot your system, won't be in DDR2 mode, but will boot if its good ram and nothing else is wrong. Weird a ram stick would go bad after a year, and I'm actually undervolting and underclocking it a bit, but OCZ says they will replace it.
