A buddy of mine has 2 2600pros in crossfire, but when enabeld the system will lock shortly after, but when left disabled no problems. I have tryed everything I could think of,from a clean install of xp64,and vista64 and x86, also both cards worked by them self in both slots fine. drivers from 8.4-8.12 no dice. and this was all at default clocks on everything.:bang head
I told him it could be the psu (echostar 600w) but he wont listen.he said 600w is enough:argue:
system specs:
AMD 500+be@stock
biostar Tforce 790gx128m
2x visiontek hd260pro's
300gig wd sata hd
allmost forgot, also 3 different cf bridges
any ideas? Im lost at this point (PSU):bang head

I tested it with 3 different crossfire bridges to make sure 1 wasnt bad.

what about in the bios? i though amd boards had a setting for enabling CF. it is possible to be the psu but the rig is stock,no oced and the 2600's barly pull any power. im not ruling out the psu though, do you have a spare good one to try at his place?

yes I went in the bios and set the dual gpu configuration to ''enabeld", and also tried switching both pci express slots to 1.0(gen1) and back to 2.0(gen2) to see if that was causing a problem.
but no good, still locks up.
I am starting to think it is the board:confused:

I got the board for him when I got mine, and have not found a reason to update the bios as of yet, and I have no problems with crossfire on my set up.
I will try an update when i get a chance to mess with it again.

well just got a chance to look at his rig again, and its looking like his slave card is on its last leg. it booted with onily that cars in and ran fine for a couple of min. then the screen went all ape***t and locked up. after many trys thats the best I could get, guessing its time for a new grafix card.
