View Full Version : Not sure where to post (need laptop help)
Have a samsung (sens 800) I fdisked the hard drive now when you turn it on; It starts to post . then right after it shows the amount of memery it stops does one beep it hits the A: drive once like a seek for drive A: but it won't read a floppy and it wont try and go to the C: drive. does anybody know about these things. need to get it up and going...Thanks..:confused: :confused: :confused:

this should have been posted in the O\S section but i'll try and see if i can help.
In BIOS do you have it set so that you boot from your A drive first? and if you plan to format with a CD then make sure C drive is set to boot first.
Yes it is set to boot from floppy first. Like I said it hits the A: drive and I have a win 95 boot disk in it but it won't boot from it....
maybe your boot disk is bad....just make a new one
I made a new boot disk...No Change....:(
see if you can find beep codes for your bios...perhaps its bad RAM or the CPU went bad if it only makes it past checking the RAM then locks up
If you can get into the bios and set it to halt on no errors that may help. Also disable error checking if you have ECC RAM
