There is no name in my FahMon for my SMP client, but I have one for my GPU client. Any Ideas? Also do those PPD seem right for a stock 4870/q9400?
Thanks much!

Check your config file if it has the right info there. Your ppd for your cpu seems low. Are you sure you are running smp?

Client.cfg has my name and team# in it and I am sure I installed the SMP version. Seems like the CPU fah is only using 25%. Early there were 4 instances running at 25% but maybe 3 went away because I am running a virus scan?

That is a standard client WU you're working on. Don't forget to add the -smp flag when starting the client.
Here's what I would do in this scenario...
1- Stop the client (Ctrl+C)
2- Restart with -oneunit to finish your current uni-proc WU: Folding@home-Win32-x86.exe -verbosity 9 -forceasm -oneunit
3- When that finishes (could be a day or so), restart the client again as follows for SMP work: Folding@home-Win32-x86.exe -smp -verbosity 9 -forceasm
-btw AlucardCasull, haven't seen you around before... so I must say, :welcome: to Team 32! New guy stocks the fridge. :)

harlam is right. you should have the -smp flag for smp to work..

I put the "-smp -verbosity 9 -forceasm" in when I ran the -configonly shortcut, I didn't realize that it needed to be in the shortcut as well. Sounds good thanks guys!
this is for you harlam, and the rest of 32 :)

Ahh, I was going to mention that option about "Enter command line options here", or whatever it says. It's new, I don't trust use it... sometimes I want to run different flags, and I'd rather not go through the config sequence again to do so.
I suggest running the config sequence, removing whatever is listed in that option, then using straight command line argument flags as I showed before.
Sweet Deal! That's some of the best "fridge stocking" I've ever seen! :D Kudos to you bro!
Another easy solution is to set the name to "Adak", and all will be well! :p :p :p

Do i need to have a windows password for SMP to work?

Yes... you are required to use a Windows Account with a Password, No Exceptions. ;)
Setup a password and then run the install.bat procedure again. If you need a little guidance, see the "Install" sticky at the top of the forum page. There is a guide for SMP Deino and SMP MPICH2, whichever flavor you've decided to go with. :)

So I am having issues again, SMP is going to sleep after 5 tries, and I can't figure out why. I looked through the log but the only error I could tell was "Error starting folding@home core." Any really quick ideas, ill reinstall it soon, just looking to see if its a quick fix.

After adding a password to your user account, did you re-run install.bat?

Well its green in FAHmon and i am getting 2170 PPD which is, well, 10x better than before, but I stil don't have my name in FAHMon, any ideas?
The only thing I can think of is to remove FahMon from your system, and then d/l and re-install it, being careful to follow their directions about adding a client.
Hopefully, it was a bum version, and the newer one will work OK. If it is the newest version, and it still doesn't work (and you've checked your client.cfg file for your name, etc), then I'd try an older version of FahMon.
While you're on their website, you might ask them "what's up with this error?", and see what they say.
Also see if there are any unneeded background tasks running, you can end.(Anything new that's running?) See if that fixes it.
I have had some similar problems with unneeded processes running in the background
Also try changing some of the settings in preferences. Like set the Auto reload clients to a 1min interval.
I reinstalled mine just to see...and know fahmon is acting up for me. It slow to update the logs.
Its using 25% of a CPU! Yikes
Anyone want to confirm this problem?
