I just got mine and unlocked it. XP1900@1.75Ghz. Is this a decent OC. I got the Multi at 11.5 and the FSB at 152 runs great. I had it post at 1800, but wouldn't boot into WIn. I have seen posts of 1600 hitting 1.7Ghz, so the 1900 should atleast do 1.8.
I am burning in the PC now. Got it set to a 600Athlon. Dropped the FSB and Multi raised hte Core hopping to hit the 1800Mhz mark.
had my xp1600 at 10.5x166 1743
take a look at my sig... i think i can go higher too
Here you go, as it's running at the moment;
1600+ @ 1624, 8*203FSB. 8khal00 BETA BIOS

Locked. No volt mod. FSB only. 1.4 @ 1.596. Load temp 40C according to MBM.

WOw 203FSB now thats impressive. By far the fastest I have ever seen here.
frank, can we see a benchie?
My XP 1800 does 11x155 and almost 11.5x155, but I have not put the vcore mod on my motherboard yet, so my top core voltage is only 1.9
By saying it does a certain speed, I mean it not only posts, not only loads the OS, but runs Prime95 Torture and 3DMK2K1. I see a lot of posts where people claim "it runs xxxxMhz stable, but fails in Prime95", or "but can't get all the way through 3DMK2K!". Obviously they and I have a different definition of stable! :D
My goal is to get my 1800 up to 12x150, but I'm not sure I'll be able to hit that, even with the higher core voltage. 11.5x155 is definitely do-able. System does not like 160 FSB. Again it almost loads Win XP :D

First of all, I have to agree with Hoot. Synthetic benchmarks are good for bragging rights however, it's how the machine can handle the "real world" that counts. I run all of the Sandra benchmarks and turn the kids loose with some games, I also work with some fairly large graphics files as well as run SETI@HOME 24/7 (WU's = 3 to 3.5 hrs). I can assure that these machines are stable and function fully including the USB and NIC.
Since I don't waste much bandwidth in General Discussion, I guess it would be alright to use up a bit here.
This is an XP 1600+ @ 1624 (203*8)
Vcore at max in BIOS reads 1.85 in Sandra
Epox 8KHA+ with the 8khal00 "BETA BIOS"
WBK38 temperature is a bit high, 52C +/-
128 MBs PNY PC12100, Believe it or not, does better than my Crucial DIMM voltage is +.30
In a full tower case under the desk with two other PCs and not much air flow.
400W CompUSA power supply, 5V+ = 4.95
First off, the Sandra Mainboard info;
The CPU and BIOS information including the multiplier;
I have to preface the Memory benchmark by saying that it is well known that the memory scores are impacted by the 3/4 memory divisor hence the lower than optimal scores. This benchmark is with the FSB at 203 and the memory bus at 153MHz;
Here is the same machine with the FSB at 166 and the memory at 166MHz as well, it beats the 203FSB scores. However with the original 11-30 BIOS, I was getting ALU=853MBsand FPU=905MBs. I've got to work on this;
And finally Multi-Media @ 203FSB;

Only can get 9% with a "Generic" PS.
BUT I know I can do better.
:cool:
Frank, I think if I were you, I'd go with the 166 FSB. With my setup at 155 FSB, your 203 barely squeaks past me on memory, 710/747 vs 711/727 and I pass you on CPU 4552/2261 vs 4770/2377 and MMX 9056/10424 vs 9548/10961. That memory divisor seems to be holding you back.

I have to agree with you, I've stated that in another post. As a matter of fact it is now at 166, I lowered it for that memory benchmark and left it there.
I currently have the memory set to turbo, cas 2 etc, everything set fast, and I got better scores with the "old" BIOS. And I'm not real pleased with this "BETA BIOS" and my T-BIRD either. Both of these machines literally screamed with the old versions. My previous scores were, memory 853 / 905, CPU 4529 / 2266 and MMX 9106 / 10481.
I think I'll spend some "Tweak time" this weekend (I've got to work around the Steeler game on Sunday though!)
Thanks for the input.

I see a lot of posts where people only changed the multiplier a little, but changed the FSB a lot. Wouldn't it be better to do the opposite? Changing the FSB affects everything, right? The multiplier only affects the CPU. By changing the FSB don't you take the risk of things not working right because of the mhz? Am I totally wrong on this?
First of all, Welcome to the forums.
The advantage of increasing the FSB is that you increase the bus speed for everything. This way you increase the performance of everything, particularly the memory and CPU. You are also correct about a risk of "things not working right". For example, the original KT266 chipset has a problem with the USB over 138MHz. Therefore you have to reach a "sweet spot" where all of the peripherals still work properly and you are able to attain an elevated FSB.
An example of this "sweet spot" would be as in my case. I have an Epox 8KHA+ motherboard with an XP1600 that I can run stable at 203MHzFSB (406DDR) with a BETA BIOS from Epox. This BIOS employs a RAM divisor that slows the memory bus to 3/4 of the FSB. I've found , to my disappointment, that I got better memory scores with the FSB at 166MHz using the original BIOS and the memory at 1/1. The total system speed is still in the same ballpark around 1600MHz, but the scores are higher with the lower FSB and faster memory.
I hope this helps.

All Right People help me out on this one.
I have a 1900XP running stable @ 11.5x146FSB stable( runs Prime 95 and everything else. Now my problem is, when I go above 146 FSB I get the BLue screens in WinXP. I only use one peripheal which right now is a Matrox G450. I am running Kingmax PC2700 so I am pretty sure it is not the ram holding me back.
Now will a Raid setup hold you back on uping the FSB any? I am running the Soyo Dragon + which is suppose to be a good board for OC. I am happy with the Speed I am runnnig but, I would like to break the 150FSB barrier and be stable. I can get up to 153 FSB but after awile it will crash with Page Pool Fault error or something else.
Please Need help in this area.

Actually you try to find a happy medium on both. That point where everything works in harmony and you get the most performance. Sometimes it becomes necessary to dump an offensive component that doesn't work well in the desired configuration.
I believe tht the RAID could cause a problem, it uses the PCI bus as does the other peripherals. If you have an extra hard drive to try out while disabling the RAID you could verify this.
I'm sure someone else will jump in on this, maybe with a better answer for you.
Good Luck!

Yeah I might try that. i do have an extra HD I need to setup for another COmputer. So thanks for the info. I will try this and let you know what I find.
