These sticks are great, I bought a set before xmas and was surprised when they ran at 1000mhz 5-5-5-18 with only 1.8v. A new rebate came out after the 1st so I decided to get another 4gigs and they too only need 1.8v, even with all 4 sticks.

Is this normal? Every 1000/1066 kit I saw was rated at 2.1v including these. I haven't tried overclocking them yet, I thought I should get some kind of airflow over them first.

Also, are there any new programs for ram testing? Memtest takes a long time with 8GB. I ran it for ~12 hours and it only did 9 runs.

lol whoa. must be a good motherboard ;). most ppl with 4x1GB RAM have to overvolt/downclock/loosen timings to get it stable.
i'd say you're safe without any active air over them because you're on stock voltage.

who cares if it's normal. you're running ram with all slots taken without having to lower their performance. that's better than normal in my eyes :p

I wanted a fan so I could give them volts and clock them higher :)

I did some testing yesterday and found they do not clock well. Going from 1.8v to 2.1v didn't even get me to 1050mhz. Once I get a fan over them I'll try with more volts but it is not looking too good. I was thinking they would clock well since they ran stock at low volts, but it appears they do not respond well to volts.

It's not the fault of the RAM, but more of a combination of incorrectly set sub-timings for an installed 8GB (like Richard mentioned), and / or FSB to NB strap in addition to the P35 memory controller (more vNB / MCH required when all four slots are occupied). Using MemSet post a pic. of all the current sub-timings at 1000 MHz (assuming they're set to AUTO in the BIOS).

I have set 5-5-5-18 in BIOS and tRFC 54, other than that they are all on auto. I tried adjusting tRFC and the MCH voltage with little to no effect on memtest. I haven't looked at any other timings yet. Also my E8400 hasn't arrived yet, I am using an E4300 @ 333fsb.

Here is the shot of memset you requested.

I have the same ram. I was able to just now get the ram to 1066 on the 2.1v rating. I wasn't able to get 1000 on 1.8 though.

it's probably because you have different motherboards. i coudln't oc my Reaper X ram to 1066mhz until i flashed my motherboard to an updated Rampage Formula BIOS.

oh yeah, you should also try that, if you already haven't; update BIOS, as that often helps.
i say this becuase my timings were the same, but unachievable on my 0403 BIOS, but stable on my current 0410 BIOS.

i'm not sure with 8gb, but 4gb often needs a tRFC of 60+ to reach higher than 1000mhz.

I have the newest BIOS available and I tried setting tRFC up to 63 which is the max in the BIOS. Could I set it higher with memset or would the BIOS override it?

you serious? mine goes up to like...80 i think. well you can type in the value (in my BIOS).
hmm...sometimes switching slots can make a difference...or swapping the modules around...just try some random stuff :p

and up the voltage. your ocz have a 2.2v under warranty limit yeh? boost it up to 2.2v and see what you can get. also, FSB to NB straps can make a diff to what RAM OCs you can get.
