If this is a failing HDD it's the strangest way I've ever seen one fail.
Drive is filled with nothing but iso files. One day I try to mount an image, it takes a little longer than usual, then says "unable to mount image." Which means it found the file.
It did this for every iso.
Okay.
I forget about it, about ten hours later I try again it works fine.
Later on it doesn't work. I restart it works fine. Then later it doesn't.
I restart, HDD simply isn't found. I restart again and chkdsk runs(didn't ask it to) it finds no issues, everything's fine.
Stuff like this has been going on. The data's important(my BD collection) so I swap in another blank HDD and move everything to it. Everything copies over fine and works great!
So now I have an empty HDD. Is this just some buggy stuff with my hardware/software or is this junk?
I'm glad I found out before I sold it, would've felt really bad.
Vista 64, Q9300, some overpriced Asus mobo, 4GB DDR2.
I'm specifically omitting the HDD mfr to avoid bias. :)
P.S. Just ordered two more 1.5s. If this HDD is indeed dead, 9tb, if not, 10!
