Is there a way to find out the system up time in XP?

Yep, get uptime.exe command from MS, here's the link .. http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/management/uptime/default.asp

You can also check in Event Viewer and the log will tell you the time it was started up. It's not in real time like the Uptime program, but will still allow you to do it yourself.

Sandra will give you uptime under the Windows Information module...

simple go to comand prompt and type systeminfo it then tells you basic thing about your os and of course you sytem up time.
