well maybe, but a good look at it..

oh my, I can't decide if that is simply too much, or the coolest thing I have ever seen...

OMG THAT IS PRETTY COLD AND PRETTY FAST...:burn:
To bad he couldn't keep it running 24/7 at that speed. A water cooled peltier setup would be my choice even if the clock speed didn't reach 3630. Does anyone know how long LN2 would last in the copper container?

Man, that is just outrageous! Can you imagine how much it would cost to keep running it at that speed though?:D

wow,
amazing what photoshop can do really!! ;)

I am sure its not a fake..

Its real, the limit of .13Micron core surely!!! Holy s**t!!!

Around 1-3mins :) Then you have to add some more.
lennytiger, it's PSP not photoshop, take a look at the screenshot (http://www.muropaketti.com/artikkelit/cpu/northwood2200/ln2/7.jpg). notice the PSP icon there! :D
And No it's not a fake. That CPU did over 3GHz w/ stock intel HSF!!
Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe not, but where's the harddrive cable? In the fourth shot where it shows the mobo running in the foreground and the monitor in the background (with progs on screen) there's no harddrive ribbon cable next to the psu plug. There's also no shadow of it on the table top, only of the psu cable.
The v-core multimeter shows 0's too.
Hmmmm.
If it's legit, then great...we got something to look forward to in our own efforts.
Sorry if I'm wrong, but I'm a sceptical kind of guy.

I have both, my mom is (digital graphics designer), once i overclocked my athlon to 100GHz don't ya know with AIR COOLING too, all post some fake screen shots for ya

I can only guess your 3dmark score if you get a hold on that chip!
I don't believe this is a fake. and you could do a cleaner system with a large tank and it wouldn't cost too much but deliervery guy is going to have to back a huge orca trunk up to your bedroom! it should have been a closed system. I would have used a cork in the top so that gas can escape but you aren't trying to cool the entire room. that way the N2 would last a lot longer. also a small vessel with metal tubing might be best. I have N2 at work and it wouldn't be that hard to do what those guys did. any pics of the volt mod?

this site also had this pic from a memeber that responded.. but its all forgein so i couldnt read what he said..
Good question Diggrr
Where is the IDE cable?
Thats definitely not fake as liquid nitrogen + vcore mod will definitely get it to 3.6 where other sites have gotten it to 3.2 with peltier setups.

Is the wire going from the motherboard to behind the video card the IDE cable, or is it not there at all? And, like Diggrr said, what's with the voltage meter reading 0?
And, if it isn't a fake, well, good job to them.

please remind me why I have a AMD system:confused:

Because AMD's are usually faster, and they cost half as much.:)

AMDs are cheaper, have more power for the $.
That's a nice overclock. That's insane. I wonder how long the CPU will last at that speed with LN2. Probably not long. 68MHz bus speed boost? Yikes.

Voodoo,
I just got a 1.1a Tualatin Celly chip for about 100 bucks, and
I think intel is passing up AMD on both counts.
(Time to restart this endless debate)
Just got this chip 3 days ago. Here it is at 115fsb, default
vcore. (Where can I get some of that liquid Nitrogen at...?)

The thing is, the PIII core is nearing the end of it's live and can't go much higher for clock speed. The Athlon will go past 2GHz eventually, OCed or not.

well i think ppl will hit 2ghz with the 2000+
ive seen 1900+ hit 1928mhz and so on..
the 2200+ will for sure pass 2ghz oc'd..

Coolness. I want one that'll do that.
Thats a cool overclock.. I believe its true there is a HDD cable in one of the pic's
see attached...
love to try that...
Yeah, I saw it in the third pic, but not in the fourth.
I looked up the mobo to make sure that all the hdd plugs are right there...they are. One black hdd and one blue one at the edge. The floppy one is next to them (south of the psu plug).
That's why I was looking at the shadow on the table, in pic 3 the cable was laying flat down to the table, but gone in pic 4 where you can see the monitor on.
Maybe just a trick of the light...who knows without the whole system in the pic at once.
Ya gotta love the mad scientist appeal though. muhahaha.
Probably after 24 hours of that thing on, the chip will die though.
Yea now I see on the fourth picture I see the IDE cable coming up seperated from the PSU connecter.
Yodums
Too bad you cant run that fast for every day use.
Some day will be there, I hope it is soon:burn:
6502kid, how did that celly beat a p4 1.6? i did not know the tualatins were that good.
Overclocked processors will always out-perform others of same clock speed and some of higher. Why? I don't know really.. but when I took my T-Bird 900 to 1ghz, it bypassed the T-Bird 1ghz by a reasonable margin.. kind of odd. :eh?:

Maybe cause the FSB is faster than the non-OCed chip.
Good point... it's been a long day, not quite thinking clearly..

that o/c is nuts. and that celly is performing great!
thats the .13 micron one?
Hello,
I'm the author of that overclocking result and webmaster of largest hardware & overclocking site in Finland http://www.muropaketti.com. It was very well known that some people wouldn't believe this quite high Pentium 4 CPU clock frequency. Anyway, I can quarantee that it's real :-)
Someone said that there are no HDD-cable in pic 4.. well here is the link to original picture:
http://www.muropaketti.com/artikkelit/cpu/northwood2200/ln2/system.jpg
And voltagemeter says 0.00 at that moment because it isn't connected to anywhere. We usually measure the Vcore straight from motherboard as well as +5V line during the tests because bios won't tell you the correct value. (VCore is actually always higher than bios tells you).
These tests lasted about 1,5 hours and we used 4,5 liters LN2. Northwood chip is doing fine and it can go 2970MHz with Swiftech MCX478 and 1,9V Vcore.. here's a Sandra shot:
http://www.muropaketti.com/artikkelit/cpu/northwood2200/cpu_135.gif
Too bad we didn't take Sandra CPU-shot when the CPU was running at 3630MHz... actually I don't know why.. maybe because we were so surprised of this result and we didn't know it would spread to almost all HW-sites in world :P
---
Now we have still 6,5 liters LN2 left and today it's time for Athlon XP 2000+ and Epox 8KHA+.
Epox 8KHA has a Vcore mod and Vmem mod so it can supply so much voltage to Athlon and DDR-memory as wanted :)
Stay tuned..
If there's enough LN2 left after XP 2000+ test.. I'll run Northwood again with LN2 and try to run some other tests too.
Take care..

That is a mad, crazy, insane OC ! Nice.
Yeah, mine is the .13 celly. SL5ZE 1100A
I ran that bench while online. Hopefully I will get this
thing running even faster soon.

Get the 2200+ thoroughbred in March, .13micron core, 1.65V, hits 2ghz easy with Default voltage, with 2V you'd hit 2.7ghz

I wish AMD would release their CPUs NOW!
I see it now, and I stand corrected. Thank you for the expanded pic.
Now I have something to shoot for. :D

Thats a seriously nice oc, but i can't afford to own a PIV for just 24hours.......lol
