Hi all. Been watching and trying to learn. I am not a gamer, that's what PS2 is for. I just use the PC for email, MP3 stuff, lots of picture and video storage and burning discs.

My new system, when assembled, will consist of a Iwill KA266-R board with a 1.4ghz T-bird plus a lot of parts form my old system like matrox dual head video card, CD & CD-RW drives, three 8.4 Gb HDs, etc, etc.

Would good quality PC2100 chips suffice for my needs? Or should I step up to PC2400 or PC2700 chips? Why?

Thanks all.

It's hard to beat Crucial PC-2100 for quality and price. AFAIK, PC-2400 and 2700 are not built to any JEDEC standard. This means that PC-2400 and PC-2700 don't exist, officially speaking.

I've read that at least one mainboard made by ECS will run Crucial PC-2100 as PC-333. I dunno if there is a JEDEC standard for PC-333 yet. Probably not.
