View Full Version : just finished my i7 setup
Just finished my new i7 rig.
This is the first water cooled rig I have built since my amd 1.4 days.
Used a Swiftech kit along with a few addons. Came out very nice I think. Wish I could find some nicer 90's for the rear, but the cheap plastic ones seem to be working fine.
Kit works pretty good running at a tad over 3.8 my temps never 60c during stress testing or gaming. And best of all even with (7) 120mm fans and the huge one on the top it is dead silent.
Let me know what you think.

Looks awesome! I can't wait until I can upgrade to i7.
Are you planning on trying for a higher OC? I would think with that setup, you could get a little higher than 3.8. But I'm sure even 3.8 on that thing is incredible!
Congrats!

Whats with the 90 degree fittings, just loop it out the back. Nice setup tho.

The 90 fittings with such a basic loop probably don't affect flow enough to cause any problems.
Nice job!

Two 90's so close to the out-let will not cause "problems," but it also means that the OP is not using his equipment to the their best effectiveness.
I too would have just looped them back in; you would reduce any restriction, and also decrease your chances of leaks in FOUR areas.
Looks clean though.

PS - that video card is looking a little thirsty no?
Yes I saw another post on here a couple weeks back where someone had a very similar setup and just bent the tubing around. I just did not like the look and where my case sits that would have forced it to sit out an extra couple inches.
I had it running at a bit over 4.2 for a while, but it was getting a little hotter and I like to have 100% reliability so I backed it down. I am now testing to see just how low I can get my voltages at this speed.
Yes the video card is next on my list. I was just having a hard time finding a nice block for the new 55nm cards. Plus even while overclocking it I am not getting real high temps with the fan set to 55%.

These bitspower 90's are less restrictive I believe:

wow - nice setup! - is that an antec 1200? thats a lot of work to only water cool your CPU!
does that pump have an rpm control on it?

Yep it is a 1200.
No rpm control.
The video card will be in the loop soon.
